About

This page serves as a collection of books submitted by visitors of the site. There is no specific prompt to what books to submit except the following:

  • The submitee must have read the book
  • Each submitee must submit only one book
  • The choice of book should be inspired by another book from this page

Each submission will be placed next to the book it was inspired by. This way, clusters of associated books will form.

If you feel inspired by a book and it reminds you of another, feel free to submit it by pressing the following button:

On Connection

Kae Tempest

On connection tells the story of the performing artist Kae Tempest. In the book she tells you that all she want’s to do with every performance, is to connect to her audiecne in some way. They don’t try to convince them of anything or change their minds, all the want to do is reach out to them.

The book is just written in a very beautiful and touching way.

The Stroke

Gerrit Noordzij

I think this book is the best introduction and explanation why our alphabet looks like it looks!

When I saw the elements of typographic style, this is the next book I had to think about!

The War on Art

Stephen Pressfield

Even though it sounds like just another self help book for artist, this book really helped me to find a deeper connection to what I do and pushed me to overcome resistence.

I read this on a trip to france last year, so the memories from this trip are always there when I open it up again.

Grid systems in Graphic Design

Josef Müller-Brockmann

I recommend "Grid Systems in Graphic Design" because it has been invaluable in my work as a corporate designer. The book's practical advice on using grid layouts has helped me create clean, organized, and consistent designs for various corporate materials, from brochures to websites. Its clear guidelines and principles have made a significant difference in my ability to maintain a cohesive visual identity for my clients. I believe it would be a valuable addition to our collection and a great resource for fellow designers.
